Customer: Minsk Water Utility, Minsk.The project launch: 2000 – present.Type of works: energy audit, formalizing requirements for the process automation system and developing the requirement specification, design documentation and estimates development, equipment supply, commissioning.The efficiency reached: energy costs are reduced for 25%, excessive pressure is reduced for 14%, energy saving per year is $130 000.
In 2014 we optimized operation of 45 local and one regional pumping stations of Minsk Water Utility. Total power consumption as of the work beginning amounted to 900 000 kW/h per month.
Two power consumption optimization methods were applied simultaneously:
- optimization on check points
- in-plant optimization (efficiency-based pump control)
Excessive pressure of 0,08-0,13 MPa was revealed at all stations. Owing to the intelligent optimization algorithms, we managed to reduce the power consumption at each station on average for 22% (1000,9 kW/h per month).
